Event Description

Session 1: Friday 5 June 2026, 13.45 - 15.00, Kingfisher Pool, University of Galway

An exciting opportunity to explore the fundamentals of water-based skills including floating, balancing and paddling a surfboard. Experience surf equipment used in an Inclusive Surfing Session from a controlled pool environment

Session 2: Saturday 6 June 2026, 14.00 - 16.00, Lahinch Beach, Co. Clare

Pool and Beach sessions are led by the West Coast Surf Club and Liquid Therapy.

Data Processing Consent

Abbey Conferences is the Professional Conference Organiser supporting the organisation of the EACD 2026 Congress and Experience Village.

In order to manage attendees at this event, we need to collect your contact information. By providing consent, you are allowing Abbey Conferences to store your data for up to 6 months after the event and the ability to send information via email in relation to the EACD 2026 Experience Village. Your data will only be shared with the Experience Village Zone Leaders, who will contact you regarding your booking.

Upon completion of the 6 month period, all event data shall be archived with personal information deleted. If you opt to receive future information regarding any of the events, we will pass on your details (name, email address, phone number) to the relevant local contact.

If you do not provide consent we cannot process your registration.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting eacd2026@abbeyconferences.com Upon request, all personal data will be removed from our system. If you request this before the event, your registration will be cancelled.

Important Participation Requirements

Attendees are required to attend both sessions to get most benefit from the Inclusive Surfing opportunity.

Parents are required to accompany the young person in the water for the Friday Pool session.

Parents are invited to observe the Saturday beach surf session from Lahinch beach.

There will be a surf instructor or trained volunteer with each child and their parent during both pool and beach sessions in a 1:1 ratio.

Attendance at the pool-based session on Friday 5 June at 13.45 is mandatory for beach session participation in Lahinch on Saturday 6 June.

This is a high-demand event and places are limited. Registration will close once capacity is reached.

This inclusive surfing experience is suitable for children who are:
- Between 8-17 years
- Able to follow simple verbal instructions
- Able to walk independently in water

Parents will be required to support their child in the swimming pool (in waist depth water) for additional safety. Parents are not expected to enter the sea during the surf session on Lahinch beach.
