Come join us for the Student Welcome Event, hosted by the SARMAC Student Caucus at this year’s conference! We can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to SARMAC 2025! The Welcome Event is designed to help students connect, make new friends, and get the most out of the conference experience (with snacks provided!). We’ll kick things off with introductions from the Student Caucus, so you know who to look for throughout the conference. Then we’ll jump into some fun and friendly ice-breaker activities—nothing too awkward, we promise! You'll have the chance to meet fellow attendees, hear about student-focused events, and pick up some tips on navigating the conference, especially if it’s your first time attending.
The second half will involve the Pitch-To-Peers event. In small groups, students will have the opportunity to propose future projects, share new findings, or even practice presentation skills. You’ll have 5 minutes to pitch your idea and 5 minutes to receive feedback from your peers in an informal, supportive setting. It’s a great opportunity to gather insights, spark collaborations, refine your research ideas, or scout some interesting talks and posters! Please email students@sarmac.org to sign up.
