Unlocking efficiencies through collaborative research management: an interactive workshop
Abstract
Join us for an engaging and interactive workshop that builds on the insights from the recent Jisc-commissioned report, "Collaboration for a sustainable future". This session will explore how institutions can work together in the digital, data, and technology space to achieve tangible efficiencies, reduce costs, and contribute to a sustainable future in research management.
We will kick off with two concise presentations. The first, from Jisc, will provide an overview of the report's context and conclusions, highlighting how collaborative efforts can enhance financial sustainability across the sector. The second presentation, from a HE institution, will showcase the practical benefits of a collaborative approach to research management systems and services.
Following the presentations, participants will engage in an interactive workshop using design thinking techniques to generate and develop innovative ideas for cross-institution collaboration. We will delve into specific areas of research management ripe for collaboration and identify the necessary changes to make these ideas a reality.
Attendees will leave with actionable ideas for collaboration that can be pursued within and between institutions. To extend the impact of our discussions, we will summarise the session's outcomes in a blog post or podcast, sharing our collective insights with the broader research management community.
