In our workshop, titled "An AI tool for the Grant Application Process: Technical Approaches, Data Sharing Challenges and Realistic Outcomes", we invite ARMA members to explore the challenges and opportunities in using AI to redefine the grant application process with the goal of securing more funding while using resources efficiently, a feature not offered by existing AI tools primarily centred on application writing support.
Anna will start by leading a discussion looking at the entire grant application process to discuss which elements are most amenable to AI support. Stuart will then discuss what broad technical approaches that are currently available and where they might apply to the different parts of the process highlighted.
Anna and Stuart will then lead a discussion on the benefits, challenges and mechanisms for data sharing between institutions to allow the training of better models and to allow comparison between institutions.
Lastly, all of the previous elements will be brought together as we map out the next steps to creating tools that help research organisations across the sector improve their key processes using AI.
